NITI Aayog has released an Expert Group report titled "Future Pandemic Preparedness and Emergency Response — A Framework for Action". The report outlines a blueprint for India to prepare for future public health emergencies, focusing on creating a rapid response system.
The COVID-19 pandemic highlighted the need for preparedness, and with unpredictable planetary ecology, climate changes, and human-animal interactions, future large-scale infectious threats are inevitable. The WHO has warned that 75% of future public health risks are likely to be zoonotic.
