In partnership with UNDP, the Analysis conducted a six months scoping study on the State of Climate Entrepreneurship in India from february to july 2023. The study focused on women-led startups and aimed to work towards building an integrated entrepreneurship development platform to support women.
The study included various components like qualitative participatory research, data collection, mapping of stakeholders and ecosystem, and information synthesis. Various challenges faced by women entrepreneurs and young innovators were mapped along with building viable solutions for funding and expanding networks.
This study highlighted the need for such entrepreneurship platforms to penetrate to the local levels. The role of the government in facilitating and helping build startups was also discussed.
The final recommendations of the study were submitted to UNDP, and were further interlinked with the actual innovation run by Niti Aayog. The outcomes of this comprehensive scoping study also included an integral targeted training module, an assessment report and other content-based outputs for capacity-building initiatives for emerging climate entrepreneurs and innovations across India.
