The Analysis worked along with Dev Sol, Delhi based social impact consulting firm, and United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) to conduct a qualitative study and evaluate the effectiveness of One Stop Centers (OSCs), and district hospitals in the two districts of Madhya Pradesh. This study was held in Bhopal and Chhatarpur, in the months of October and November 2023.
After two days of training with Dev Sol officials, the team proceeded to collect data on health, women and child development, and the provision of socio legal support to survivors of gender-based violence. Additionally, the team assessed total manpower, infrastructure, protocols and policies, awareness of gender-based violence, and assistance provided to survivors.
The data collection methods employed were in-depth interviews, site observations and focus group discussions. The team utilized the SurveyCTO software to collect data in the OSCs.
Through a detailed qualitative analysis of the interview data, challenges and the key areas of improvement were analyzed. Constructive feedback on development of various tools, development guides, facility assessment and OSCs were also provided. This two month study effectively helped create targeted training programs designed to enhance the operational effectiveness and service quality in OSCs. The study also helped in strengthening the capacity to support gender based violence survivors in Madhya Pradesh.
