Madhya Pradesh State Nutrition Policy(2020-30)

Madhya Pradesh nutrition policy envisions nutrition secure communities, where communities enable every member of the population especially children, adolescents, and women to attain optimal nutrition and health status, thus helping them to achieve good physical growth, development and cognitive potential with dignity. The vision for 2030 is "Suposhit Madhya Pradesh" that is freeing MP from all forms of malnutrition, across intergenerational cycle.

State Strategic Plan for TB elimination in Madhya Pradesh (2019-25)

The objective is to make Madhya Pradesh TB-free, with zero deaths, disease, and suffering due to Tuberculosis by 2025. The plan aims for a rapid decline in TB burden, morbidity, and mortality, with the first goal being to reduce Tuberculosis incidence by 77 percent, from 189 per lakh in 2018 to significantly lower levels by 2025. The second target is to reduce TB-related mortality by 95 percent by 2025, and the third goal is to eliminate catastrophic costs for affected families by 2023. The strategy is guided by four key principles: Detect, Treat, Prevent, and Build. This includes detecting missing cases in tribal, urban poor, and private sectors; providing appropriate treatment with patient-friendly systems; preventing the emergence of TB by addressing its social determinants; and building empowered institutions, enabling policies, and strengthening human resources.

Health Dossier (2021)

Reflects on the hey health indicators. It shows the health status with the help of maternal health situation, newborn, Infant and Child health, family planning, communicable diseases, non- communicable diseases. The document also showcases data on health care financing and health infrastructure.

Madhya Pradesh Divyangjan Rights Rules (2017)

The Madhya Pradesh Divyangjan Rights Rules (2017) were established to implement the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016, ensuring the rights and welfare of persons with disabilities in the state. Key provisions include the recognition of rights to equality, non-discrimination, and access to education, employment, and social security. The rules emphasize creating accessible environments in public spaces and transportation while mandating support services like aids, rehabilitation, and counseling. They promote awareness and training for officials and the community to foster inclusivity and establish grievance redressal mechanisms for timely complaint resolution. Additionally, monitoring committees are to be set up to evaluate the implementation of these rights, ultimately aiming to empower Divyangjan and uphold their rights in accordance with national and international standards.

State Health Policy

The policy identifies core issues aimed at improving the access, quality, and coverage of health care in Madhya Pradesh. It focuses on ensuring geographic and economic access to primary and secondary quality health care and family welfare services for all citizens within five to seven years. Key objectives include preventing disasters and ensuring preparedness for disaster management when necessary. The policy sets specific targets: reducing the Maternal Mortality Rate (MMR) to 220 by 2011 from 498 (1997 levels), reducing the Infant Mortality Rate (IMR) to 62 by 2011 from 97 (1997 levels), stabilizing and further reducing the prevalence of HIV/AIDS, and addressing mental health issues by creating a knowledge base and preventive interventions. The strategies for achieving these goals include promoting equity, improving the organization of healthcare, increasing the quality and quantity of healthcare human resources, encouraging public-private partnerships for better healthcare, improving access to pharmaceuticals, focusing on workers' health, and enhancing mental health care for the state's citizens.

MP Drug Policy (2009)

The Madhya Pradesh Drug Policy of 2009 aimed to improve healthcare quality by ensuring the availability and affordability of essential medicines while promoting their rational use. It focused on strengthening the drug regulatory framework, encouraging local pharmaceutical manufacturing, and enhancing access to medicines in rural areas. The policy also emphasized public awareness campaigns on rational drug use, collaboration among stakeholders for monitoring drug quality, and streamlining the drug approval process to create a robust pharmaceutical ecosystem for safe and effective medications.

MP Drug Policy (2006)

The Madhya Pradesh Drug Policy of 2006 aims to ensure the availability, accessibility, and affordability of essential drugs while promoting their rational use. Key objectives include creating a comprehensive list of essential medicines, implementing stringent quality control measures, and fostering public-private partnerships to enhance drug supply chains and healthcare delivery. The policy emphasizes the importance of training healthcare professionals and raising public awareness about the rational use of drugs. Additionally, it establishes a framework for regular monitoring and evaluation of drug availability and usage, ensuring compliance with the policy's goals. Overall, the policy seeks to improve public health outcomes by providing safe and effective medications to the population.

Food Security Index in Rural Madhya Pradesh (2008)

This report is an effort to provide a district-level profile of food security in Madhya Pradesh. The analysis in this report shows that ensuring food security and improving nutritional status is a challenge for the state as a whole. The identification of certain districts for priority action does not mean that either resources or efforts to bring up all districts can slacken; but only draws attention to the need for more inclusive growth efforts and the special efforts needed to bridge the divides between different regions and districts of the state.

Madhya Pradesh Population Policy (2000)

The mission of the population policy in Madhya Pradesh is to enhance the quality of life for its citizens by achieving a balance between population, resources, and the environment, with a focus on rapidly reducing fertility and mortality rates to stabilize the population. This includes creating a conducive environment for planned families and generating demand for family planning and reproductive health services, while emphasizing women's empowerment and gender equality as vital components of social development. The state government will mobilize community support through locally relevant schemes and increase collaboration with Panchayat Raj Institutions, the private sector, and NGOs for effective program implementation. Additionally, the policy seeks to improve the management of family welfare programs to better meet client needs and develop decentralized decision-making structures. Advocacy for family planning and reproductive health services is crucial, with efforts aimed at men to promote awareness of their responsibilities in women's empowerment. The State Commission on Women will address barriers to gender equity, and the Women and Child Welfare Department plans to establish a self-help group for women in each panchayat by 2003.

Maternal Health Document

Madhya Pradesh (MP) has made significant progress with maternal and child health interventions. However, as one of the EAG states, maternal, neonatal and under-5 mortality remains sub-optimal. MP has the highest neonatal (35/1000 live births), infant (48/1000 live births) and under-5-mortality (56/1000 live births) and the third highest maternal mortality ratio (173/100000 live births) among the larger states in India.

The Poison Act, MP Rules (1960)

The act prohibits the sale or possession of poison without a license. The act further specifies that the grant or renewel of the license to any applicant shall be at the descretion of the District Magistrate whose decision shall be final.The act also specifies that the sale of poison shall, or so far as possible be conducted by the license holder in- person, or where the license holder is a firm or a company through, or under supervision of an accredited representative of such firm or company.
