The act provides that not less than half of the total number of offices of President of Janpad Panchayat subject to minimum of one shall be reserved for women.

UDITA program was launched by the Government of Madhya Pradesh (GoMP) in 2015, to assuage the culture of silence and social taboos around the subject of menstruation in the society. The program also raises awareness about this matter which directly correlates with the individual dignity of adolescent girls and women of the state, and provides access to affordable sanitary napkins. The objective of Udita Program is to create awareness and sensitivity towards menstrual hygiene and overall menstrual management.The program also aims to increase the availability of sanitary pads in villages and increase accessibility of it for adolescent girls. It also works towards increasing awareness on anaemia and nutrition. As per this study, 35.40 lakh adolescent girls have been beneficieries of this scheme.
The Transgender Policy in Madhya Pradesh ensures the effective implementation of "The Transgender Persons (Protection of Rights) Act, 2019 in the state. The objectives of this act include expanding outreach activities for the protection of rights and entitlements of transgender persons in the state, and to participate in key development decisions that shapes their lives and communities. The policiy approach facilitates that all rights of TGs are protected and enforced including the right for self identification of gender as man, woman or TG. It also ensures equal access in all government services, addressing issues of violence and harrasement faced by TGs, and providing proper measures for medical care to TGs in hospitals and providing seperate public or gender neutral toilets.
The Gender Resource Center is a Think/do Center within the MP police dedicated to improve police service delivery and outcomes of entire justice sector for mainstreaming access to justice for girls, women, and transgender and address all related issues of subordinations, insecurity, injustices, and rights denials, infliction of crime and criminality and indignities through research, evidence based practices and related innovations. GRC works alongwith MP police academy to train and sensitise trainees so that they are able to take up monitoring, evaluation, ensure proper enforecement of policies and improve investigation methods.
The objective of this policy is to mainstream gender equality and women empowerment perspectives in tourism planning and implementation across all tourism sectors, develop gender responsive procedures and work towards bridging the gender gaps in tourism employment. The thrust areas of this policy is gender mainstreaming by responding to gender and sexuality spectra including women, girls and all non cis-gender and LGBTQIA+. The thrust areas further includes building gender responsive social nets, ensuring timely allocation of budgets and greater accountability.
Mahila aur Shishu Rakshak Dal (MASRDs), a practice from Madhya Pradesh is a socially conscious and highly empowered group of men and women who work towards curbing violence against women/girls and children in their community. As a Mahila Police Volunteer (MPV), one would have the responsibility to motivate and mobalise individuals to form themselves into MASRDs. The MASRD will work closely with the MPV to support women in distress.
Some of the bamboo centres including Koludeeh Bamboo Centre, under the state bamboo mission aims to promote women’s empowerment by providing them with sustainable livelihood, utilization and value addition of available forest bamboo, and cementing the trust gap between the forest division and local communities. Under the mission women are also trained to manufacture bamboo agarbatti Kaadis.
This study was conducted to understand the intrinsic relationship between masculinity, son preference and initimate partner violence in Madhya Pradesh. According to the results of the study majority of the men are either rigidly masculine or moderately masculine and lower proportion of women experienced relationship control or manifested gender unequal attitudes. Interestingly, in Madhya Pradesh, unlike other states, men’s perpetration of violence is closely aligned with women’s experiences of it. The study points out that policies and programs that instill positive communication as a value in intimate partner relationships have an opportunity to make men and women agents of change in their own lives.
