Four global powers – India, US, Australia and Japan – recently concluded the much-awaited and inaugural Quad Summit. The first summit was hosted virtually by US.
Political heads of all the four nations participated in the summit and exchanged their views. All the parties unequivocally supported the call for creating a free, open, and inclusive Indo-Pacific region. The Quad summit is being seen as a major step by US and its allies to counter the growing Chinese aggression in the region. For the first time, Quad leaders’ have published a joint statement, making their intentions clear to Beijing.
