In the overall ranking of Justice Delivery in India across states, Maharashtra tops the list for the second time consecutively in 2020 as per India Justice Report by @tatatrusts while Uttar Pardesh has been consistent with its last position this year in large & mid-sized states!
Tripura has topped the list in the Small States which in 2019 was at 7th Position while Meghalaya Features at the bottom in this category in #IndiaJusticeReport The States have been marked on the four pillars of Justice Delivery: Police, Prisons, Judiciary and Legal Aid.
In large and mid-sized states Bihar improved the most on 37 indicators while in small-sized states Goa improved the most on 30 indicators. In non-ranked states, Nagaland improved the most on 32 indicators while in Union Territories Delhi improved the most on 31 indicators.
Tata Trust prepares India Justice Report & the 2020 report is its 2nd edition, the first report was published in November 2019. It aims to compare & track the rise & fall in each state’s structural & financial capacity to deliver justice, using the latest available govt figures.
